Deforestation in Indonesia

Deforestation has been an issue in Indonesia for over 50 years. Once, Indonesia's forests were the treasure of the country. These forests provided homes to millions of well known plants and animals as well as resources to millions of people. Throughout the years, these forests have been logged, burned. The article Deforestation in Indonesia - Causes & Effects by Raka Zahira Farhani, "Today, half of the forests are gone in Indonesia. From 1960, 82% of lands in Indonesia were forests. It decreased into 68% in 1982, 53% in 1995, and 49% today." If we don't do anything fast, these numbers will only increase at a faster rate. Before long, Indonesia will lose all its precious forest and wildlife.
